Terms of Service
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Term Tracker V2 (“Term Tracker”, “the app”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Term Tracker is a free academic performance dashboard that allows students to track marks, calculate weighted scores, plan assessments, import data from PDF and Excel files, and optionally sync with Google Calendar and cloud storage. The app is provided as a web application accessible through a browser.
3. Beta / Trial Status
Term Tracker is currently offered as a free trial / beta product. It is actively under development: features, calculations, AI outputs, availability, and data storage behaviour may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice, and the service may experience bugs, downtime, or data-affecting issues that are more likely during this stage than in a stable, generally-available release.
By using Term Tracker during this trial/beta period, you acknowledge and accept that:
- The app is provided for evaluation and convenience, not as a guaranteed system of record for your academic marks or schedule.
- We do not guarantee continuity of the service, of any specific feature, or of stored data (local or cloud) for any period of time.
- We are not liable for any loss of data, marks, schedules, or other content, or for any academic, financial, or other consequence arising from such loss, corruption, or unavailability, whether caused by a bug, outage, migration, discontinuation of the trial, or any other cause.
- You should independently keep your own record of any mark, deadline, or assessment result that matters to you (e.g. from your institution’s own system), and use the app’s export feature to back up your data regularly.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the app to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the app
- Use the app to store or process data that is unlawful or infringing
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's servers, APIs, or infrastructure
- Use the AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or misleading content
5. User Data & Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you input into the app. While the app is designed to store your data locally by default, and optionally in cloud sync, you are responsible for maintaining backups of any data you consider important (see Section 3). We are not liable for data loss resulting from browser data clearing, device failure, or service discontinuation.
6. Google Services
The app integrates with Google OAuth for authentication and the Google Calendar API for event management. Your use of Google services is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Calendar access is requested only with your explicit consent and can be revoked at any time through your Google Account settings.
7. AI-Generated Content
The app provides AI-powered features including exam grading, study tips, flashcard generation, mark estimation, and study-plan generation. AI-generated content is produced by automated systems and may not be accurate. You agree to:
- Review all AI-generated content before relying on it
- Not treat AI output as a substitute for professional academic advice
- Use AI features responsibly and in accordance with your institution's academic integrity policies
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, during an active trial/beta period (see Section 3), without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times
- Calculations or AI-generated results will be accurate or complete
- Data stored locally or in the cloud will never be lost
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to lost data and academic consequences resulting from incorrect calculations, AI-generated content, or service interruption during this trial/beta period.
9. Intellectual Property
The app's design, code, branding, and user interface are the intellectual property of Term Tracker. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app's source code or design without permission.
10. Service Changes & Discontinuation
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, with or without notice — this includes the trial/beta itself. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
11. Third-Party Links & Services
The app contains links to third-party websites and integrates with third-party services (Google, Supabase, Vercel). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third parties. Your interactions with third-party services are solely between you and the third party.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, please reach out through the app's help or feedback channels.
